As a new gardener, I noticed this weed growing giant and very quickly in my little garden and couldn't believe how tall it was getting! Without knowing better, I pulled them (luckily it was just a few) but later learned the importance of milkweed for monarch butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators! As an environmentalist and someone who attempts to live a sustainable life without harming any other creatures I felt so incredibly guilty for doing this! I will always cherish this plant from now on and allow it to grow big and tall in my garden! You live and you learn right? :')
